Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers do more than simply add volume.

Drayton House Dental Practice

They can restore facial support that’s gradually reduced over time, improve definition and enhance features while maintaining the natural character of your face. Treatment may be used to soften deeper lines, define the jawline, restore volume to the cheeks or enhance the lips. Every recommendation is based on your facial anatomy and the result you’d like to achieve.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments made from hyaluronic acid – a substance that’s naturally found in the body. Hyaluronic acid attracts water, helping to keep the skin hydrated, supported and naturally full.

As we get older, our natural levels of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin gradually reduce. This can lead to a loss of facial volume, flatter cheeks, thinner lips and deeper lines around the nose and mouth. By carefully placing hyaluronic acid fillers beneath the skin, it’s possible to restore lost volume, improve facial contours and create natural-looking definition. Treatment can also be used to enhance features such as the lips, cheeks, chin and jawline or soften nasolabial folds (smile lines) and marionette lines.

Every treatment is carefully planned around your facial anatomy, with subtle, balanced results always the goal.

What can dermal fillers treat?

Dermal fillers are a versatile treatment that can be used in several areas of the face.

Treatment may be suitable for:

  • Lip fillers to improve shape, definition and volume.
  • Cheek fillers to restore lost volume and create a gentle lift.
  • Jawline fillers to improve definition and facial contour.
  • Chin fillers to improve projection and facial balance.
  • Tear trough fillers to reduce the appearance of hollows beneath the eyes.
  • Softening nasolabial folds (smile lines) and marionette lines.
  • Non-surgical rhinoplasty to refine the profile of the nose where appropriate.

During your consultation, Dr Rakhee will assess your facial anatomy and recommend the most appropriate treatment for your individual goals.

Are dermal fillers right for me?

Dermal fillers aren't always the most appropriate treatment.

Dermal fillers may be suitable if you’ve noticed changes in facial volume or would like to enhance the shape and definition of certain features.

Many patients choose treatment to:

  • Restore volume that’s gradually reduced with age.
  • Improve facial balance and profile.
  • Enhance naturally thin lips.
  • Define the chin or jawline.
  • Soften deeper facial lines.
  • Refresh areas that have begun to lose support over time.

If your main concern is skin hydration, texture or overall skin quality rather than volume loss, treatments such as Profhilo® or skin boosters may be more suitable. We’ll explain the differences during your consultation and recommend the approach we genuinely believe will achieve the best result.

Why choose Drayton House for anti-wrinkle treatment?

Dermal filler treatment is as much about judgement as it is technique. Small differences in where and how filler is placed can have a significant effect on the final result, so choosing someone you trust with your face really matters.

At Drayton House, your treatment will be carried out by Dr Rakhee Raichoora, a qualified dentist and advanced facial aesthetic practitioner. Her clinical background gives her an in-depth understanding of facial anatomy, balance and proportion, alongside the technical skills needed to carry out injectable treatments safely and precisely.

Rakhee will spend time getting to know what you like about your features as well as what you’d like to change. You can talk openly about the result you have in mind, ask questions and work out together what feels right before going ahead. Her aim isn’t to give everyone the same aesthetic. It’s to use dermal fillers carefully, in the right places and in the right amounts, so the result feels balanced, natural and still very much like you.

Patient journey

Step 1

Consultation

Every appointment begins with a consultation. We’ll discuss what you’d like to improve, assess your facial anatomy and explain what can realistically be achieved. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions before deciding whether to go ahead with treatment.

Step 2

Treatment

If dermal fillers are the right option, small amounts of filler are carefully placed into the planned treatment areas using precise techniques. Depending on the areas being treated, appointments are usually completed within 30 to 60 minutes.

Step 3

Aftercare

Some patients experience mild swelling, redness or bruising afterwards, but this generally settles within a few days. Before you leave, we’ll explain your aftercare and answer any questions about recovery.
