A dental onlay or crown is often one of the best ways of doing that. Rather than removing a damaged tooth, a crown sits over it like a protective shell, strengthening what’s underneath while restoring its natural shape, appearance and function. An onlay offers the same protection, but it requires much less preparation of the tooth underneath – we sometimes call it a ‘mini crown’. We will recommend what is best for you in each particular case.
It’s one of those treatments that quietly gets on with the job. Once it’s fitted, most people simply forget it’s there.

Crowns are also used as the final stage of dental implant treatment. Once your implant has healed, a custom-made crown is fitted on top to recreate the look and function of a natural tooth.
That’s why we use our digital TRIOS scanner to create a highly accurate 3D image of your teeth. The scan is quick, comfortable and gives us an incredibly precise picture of your smile, helping your crown fit beautifully while making the whole process much easier for you.

Yes. Every crown and onlay is carefully colour-matched and shaped to blend naturally with your surrounding teeth. Our TRIOS scanner helps to send as much information as possible to our technicians so it was as if they were there in the room with us.
No. Crowns are also used to restore dental implants, replacing the visible part of the missing tooth once the implant has integrated successfully.
Our digital TRIOS scanner replaces traditional dental impressions with a comfortable 3D scan, allowing us to create a highly accurate crown without messy and awkward impression materials.
