For many people, that’s the biggest difference implant-retained dentures make. By securing your denture to dental implants, it’s possible to create a smile that feels more stable, more comfortable and easier to trust in everyday life.
Unlike traditional dentures, which rest on the gums, implant-retained dentures are secured to carefully placed dental implants. This creates a much more stable foundation, helping your dentures stay comfortably in place while you eat, speak and smile.
Before recommending treatment, we’ll take the time to understand what’s working well with your current dentures and what’s frustrating you. That conversation helps us decide whether implant-retained dentures are the right solution or whether another option would suit you better.
The goal isn’t to give you a different smile. It’s to help you feel more confident using the one you already have.

Traditional dentures rest on your gums, while implant-retained dentures are secured to dental implants. This provides greater stability and reduces movement during everyday activities such as eating and speaking.
In many cases, yes. Implant-retained dentures can usually be removed for cleaning while remaining securely attached during normal daily use. We’ll explain the options that are most suitable for you.
The number of implants depends on your individual treatment plan and the type of denture being provided. We’ll discuss this with you during your consultation.
Treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic to keep you comfortable throughout. If you’re particularly anxious, we’ll also discuss whether IV sedation is a suitable option to help you feel more relaxed.
